This is pure, organic moringa powder, made from moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera) that are dried at low temperatures and finely ground. In a lot of West African homes it goes by zogale (Hausa), ewe igbale (Yoruba) or simply "miracle tree." You'll recognize it right away by the bright green color and fresh, earthy smell, a little like matcha or spinach.
Moringa leaves are naturally rich in antioxidants called flavonoids. In fact, moringa is often compared to the strongest green teas for its antioxidant content.
How our customers use it
In smoothies: a teaspoon blends right in, especially with banana, mango or pineapple, which balance the earthy taste.
As a warm drink: stir half a teaspoon into hot (not boiling) water with honey and lemon or a slice of ginger.
In food: sprinkle it over stews, soups, eggs or oatmeal at the end of cooking. It's a common addition to African soups and sauces.
Start small, about half a teaspoon a day, and work up to a teaspoon or two once you're used to the taste.
Good to know
This bag is 8 oz (half a pound) of organic powder, which goes a long way at a teaspoon a day. Keep it sealed in a cool, dark cupboard so it stays green and fresh. If you're pregnant, nursing or take medication, check with your doctor before adding moringa to your routine.
Questions
What does moringa powder taste like?
Earthy and green, a bit like spinach or matcha, with a slightly peppery finish. It's easiest to enjoy blended into drinks.
Is moringa powder the same as moringa tea?
They come from the same leaves. The powder is ground fine so you eat or drink the whole leaf, while tea bags are steeped and removed. You can make a tea with this powder too.

Not sure but I wanted to try the product because I heard good reviews from other people, but I’ve never bought from this actual store and it made me break out in hives.
I bought this in Ghana 6 years ago, and was devastated that I couldn't find it anywhere in the US. Its great that I found a site that holds it. Its extremely moisturizing and silky, it makes my skin feel and smell fantastic. It has a strong coco butter scent, but it isn't pure coco butter. So if you're looking for that, this isn't the product for you. Its like a coco butter lotion.
My order arrived on time and was surprisingly well packaged. I was worried because I’ve ordered from other African sellers online, and my packages have arrived broken due to poor packaging or without tracking updates. I used this order as a test, and I’ll definitely be ordering more from Yado soon.
These African coconut chin chin are absolutely delicious! The perfect balance of sweetness and coconut flavor with an amazing crunch.
I can’t stop eating these! Crispy, flavorful, and packed with just the right amount of coconut. 😋
