Dzowoe (also spelled zowey or zowoe) are crunchy, spicy peanut balls loved in Ghana's Volta Region and in Togo. Roasted groundnuts are ground with pepper and spices, shaped into small balls and cooked until crisp: nutty, a little hot, and hard to stop eating.
Eat them straight from the bag with tea, Malta or a cold drink. Serve them as a crunchy side with gari soakings, or crush a few over rice. Keep the bag closed so they stay crisp.
